Sunday Run - 11 miles

We did it.  11 miles.  It was chilly out there and slippery!  I look forward to the day when we can do a long run outside without feeling like we have to be so careful and not slip and fall.  YakTrax are VERY helpful and without them, I probably would have fallen......but when it started to cool off yesterday the trails got pretty slick.

I'm a little stiff today....but not bad.  I had a few too many Bud Lights on Friday night and that probably didn't help my energy level but we did make it.

This weeks goal for me is to exercise 45 minutes every day.  That is probably pushing it.....but I'm going to try.  BIG week at work this week......everyone finds out if they have a job with Grainger or not.  Stress levels will be high in the building and we all know exercising is a good stress reliever......so that is my plan.

Have a great week!  Happy Running!

  1. My prayers are with you as far as the job goes. I am so thankful I do not have that stress in my life. Just no work to do. :) Great job with the 11 miles. I did something pretty cool after my workout today. I got my first tanning session in in preparation for Florida. Lady suggested 8 minutes to start. So thats what I did. The place by Applebees has a week free if you mention you heard their add on 107.3 I didn't hear it, but with my charm she gave it to me anyway. Then its $35 unlimited for a month. That takes us up to departure day. Cant' wait to get on the plane.

  2. 11 miles? That's freak'n awesome! I haven't done that distance since Tough Mudder. Probably won't again until the half either :-) What's this news about your job? Do you still have one? Can't wait to see everyone in just a little over a month! Tina - do you and Amber wear headbands when you run? Rog - does Tammy? I do ... am addicted to a special band called "sweaty band". They are awesome - absolutely no movement once put on your head. I wore one at Tough Mudder and it never moved even through all those obstacles. I've also wore one at my recent runs. I'm asking you girls because I'd love for us all to wear one (yes matching if you don't totally think I'm a geek). I love watching folks at races that have something that ties them together. Although we won't be running together, i thought it would be nice to have that identifier that we are together. Long story short ... if you do wear headbands and if you don't object to wearing identifical headbands, I'd love to provide us all with a special headband for the race. Let me know what you think. Visit sweatbands.com to view their wide variety of styles and sizes.

  3. We are going through a lot of changes with Grainger. I work for a couple of the smaller companies that Lab Safety had aquired a few years back. All of the small companies are for sale. I have a job with Grainger until the end of the year. And if all goes according to plan....I'll get a job offer from the new buyers of the companies. We're hoping that happens in March. It's quite confusing.

And yes, Amber & I do wear headbands. I think that is a great idea to have matching ones......and truthfully, I think Rog would look darling in one too. :) I'll check out the website. Great idea!

Going to head to the treadmill. have a good week! Can't wait for Florida!
