I woke up early this morning so I thought I'd head down to my treadmill. I have come to realize that if I put my treadmill on an incline of 3......my knee isn't so bothered. If I have it at zero or one....it hurts my knee more.
My knee is still a little sore.....but not bad. So I figured I'd just do 2 miles. So I walked a half a mile......then ran/walked for about 20 minutes and then walked about 5 or 6 minutes. Right now it feels pretty good. I'm just wondering.....is the knee pain EVER going to go away or do I just need to figure out how to manage it? I'm a little frustrated that I can't seem to increase my distance without suffering for a few days afterwards. Do doctors really know what they are talking about? Sometimes I wonder. If at the end of October this is still hurting......I think I need to make another appointment. Maybe with a different doctor.
Happy Running. Tammy & Roger.....do you have any other races before the half in Sarasota? I'm thinking about doing another 5K here in Janesville. I think it is the first weekend of December. I need to check my calendar.
Have a good week!
Amber - how is your hip feeling?
Hi Tina. Don't know what to say about the knee other than it blows. I think we are done with races till sarasota with the life changes that are coming upon us. I rolled my ankle at work yesterday. Going to doc today to have a prognosis. My prognosis is it hurts. Looks like a orange in ankle. Pain from toes to hamstring. Gotta love it.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your ankle! That sucks. No running for awhile for you, I imagine. Take it easy! - Tina
ReplyDeleteAnkle is not broke. Doc wanted me in a walking cast for 10 days. I said no thanks- as long as it isn't broke, I m good to go. So he gave me a splint like brace to wear in my boot so I can work. Its a pretty purple and red today. But its getting better. Maybe by next week I can get after it again. Happy days
ReplyDeleteWe all sure are a great group of injured people! Hip was really hurting today. Still doing stretches and exercises... Hope the ankle feels better. Id like to get another 5k under my belt Tina-amber
