I have this one cousin named Roger and he is SO smart.....he suggested that I should walk on my treadmill at an incline on non running days....so I did tonight and what a GREAT stretch for my tight calves. He is so smart!! Thanks for the suggestions. That is what I love about this blog....learning and sharing ideas. THANKS!!
Tomorrow I will run for 30 minutes....probably before work. So it is off to bed early. Have a good night. Happy Running!!
Hi all. Number 1, Roger isn't smart, just have experience. :) Big difference. But thanks any ways. I am not a happy camper today. I went to the foot doctor yesterday about my ankle that won't heal. I sprained it about six weeks ago. After my 8 mile run last sunday, I couldn't hardly walk monday and tuesday. So the specialist says I have a third degree sprain. That means that all three ligaments for the ankle are a mess. That means my bone is trying to do the work of the whole ankle. That means it will never heal with my lifestyle as it is now. So, now I have no acitivity for two weeks and then we can test it and start to strenghten it. It could be up to six more weeks before I can run. You do the math. That gives me about 5 weeks to prepare for a half marathon. Geezz Louise. That just blows chow. If I choose to run too early, I am just starting over. Wow. I have to listen to someone? That doesn't work with the new Roger Fanning. Lol. Luckily I know my foot doctor personally. I coached his son for 8 years in basketball. So I know he is being honest. But it sucks. There you have it. Keep moving even though I can't. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh man! That sucks about your ankle....BIG TIME!!! But you should listen and follow instructions....otherwise you'll regret it in the long run. And if you are lucky...recovery will be faster than you think!!!!!
